Root and Tuber Improvement and Marketing Programme ( RTIMP) is an 8 year (2007 - 2015) programme supported by IFAD and GoG to enhance income and food security in Ghana by enhancing, developing market base and promoting root and tuber products.

The goal of RTIMP is to enhance income and food security in order to improve livelihoods of the rural poor in Ghana. A special emphasis is placed on women and other vulnerable groups. RTIMP aims at building a competitive and market-based root ad tuber commodity chains, supported by relevant, effective and sustainable services that are accessible to the rural poor.

RTIMP is an extension of RTIP, which only sought to maximize root and tuber production in Ghana.
The Root and Tuber Improvement and Marketing Programme seeks to find ways of expanding utilization and marketing of cassava, yam, cocoyam and sweet potato in the root and tuber sectors of the economy. The programmes is funded by IFAD.

RTIMP operates under 4 components:
Component A: Support to Increased Commodity Chain Linkages.
Component B: Support to Root and Tuber Crop Production.
Component C: Upgrading of Root and Tuber Processing and Marketing.

Component D: Programme Coordination, Monitoring and Evaluation.

 The RTIMP is currently operating in 106 districts in Ghana, with different operations and crops in the districts.
Operations include the establishment of Good Practices Centers and the improvement of crop varieties in the districts.
